Question by mpax9: Roughly how many Americans participate in recreational sports per year?
I searched but couldn’t find any type of data on this question. I’m doing a report and I would like to get some estimate…I’m hoping someone with better search-engine savvy could help me out here.
*I constitute ‘Recreational Sports’ to include only youth, college club (not varsity), and adult (no HS).

HOW ABOUT THOSE NEW DVD TRIVIA GAMES? I FORGET THE ACTUAL NAME BUT YOU’LL FIGURE IT OUT WHEN YOU SEE IT. THERE IS ALWAYS MONOPOLY, SCATTERGORRIES, (I THINK I CAN’T SPELL! LOL.) Okay, I live in West Des Moines, IA and lately I have been fishing with some of my friends. Obviously the ice melted about a month ago and I need to know, What is the best way to catch big fishing or catfish in a local pond?????

Toss a nightcrawler (worm) on a hook with a sinker and toss it out. let it sit on the bottom and wait for a tap on the line. set the hook and youre good to go. Pretty easy stuff. Thats the most simple rig I can think of.

Question by trevistight: How do I find people to join my recreational sports club?
I started a club and have 7 people, but we need around 20 to start our first game and need to find more people, preferably people I don’t already know. I used craigslist and don’t want to use meetup.com because there’s a $ 20 fee. I also used yahoo groups under recreational sports club. So any suggestions would be appreciated. Or if you want to join just let me know e-mail me or post it in this answer, we are in southern california playing in Pasadena.

Ask all of your friends to ask their friends, ask your members to ask their friends, go to a health club and post an advertisement on the board-thing. You could put vinyl’s on your car saying your phone number, where it is, etc. Having a website, and having it on Google will boost your sports club by quite a bit.

I have a question about fishing. Im 17 and im about to buy my first fishing pole but I want to go cheap maybe around 20-30 bucks. What size is appropriate for my age? And do you recommend a specific brand that cheap prices and good quality? I plan to go to walmart to buy my fishing rod, so would it be better to buy a rod/reel combo, or buy the rod and reels separately?

okay what you need for good quality is a Shakespeare brand. ugly stick poles are great for fishing if i were u i would go a little more to about 40 dollars so u know it will last and u no it wont snap on u when u have a big one. good luck
